With a history of acquisitions, merging of brands and new market entries, document composition and distribution was a major headache across the enterprise.
Customer communication was previously performed with multiple incompatible solutions - legacy mainframe based systems and PC text processors (Word based text system with proprietary extensions). This led to an inconsistent customer communication system, with multiple different layout and template repositories in use at any one time. Maintaining multiple systems had become increasingly difficult and expensive.
The icon solution
Today icon Suite is used company wide as the central platform for all customer communications: interactive, process-integrated, as well as batch. The central template repository is used by multiple principals in the group and is connected to a central output-management platform.
The central template repository enables cost-efficient, easy and controlled changes in the production process.
The icon technical solution consists of icon Suite communicating via Citrix thin clients with a backend Windows Server and MS-SQL database.
